This silkscreen print, with letterpress made in 1970 with the collaboration of Peter Grant is an amalgamation of a catamaran and a meringue, twin hulls outlined in blue set horizontally with black curving lines between them to suggest a meringue. Hamilton Finlay’s association with Orkney dates back to the 1950s and the Pier Arts Centre has steadily built up a collection of early print works by the artist. Five of his prints given from the David & Liza Brown bequest in 2014 are a great addition to the collection.
