Biography
Alexandra Kadzevich (b. Odesa, Ukraine 1992), who lives and works in Berlin, studied at Odesa Art School. M.B Grekov Odesa (2009-13); Kyiv Academy of Media Arts (2018) and De Ateliers, Amsterdam (2022-23) She is currently based in Amsterdam and Berlin. Kadzevich participated in II Biennale of Contemporary Art Odesa (2010) and III Biennale of Contemporary Art Odesa (2011), Invisible Borders, Umpuct Hub Odesa (2016); on the special project ‘Countryside Practices: Seasonal Closeness’ at the Kunsthalle Lustdorf, for V Biennale of Contemporary Art Odesa (2017) and Trespassers will be Detected, final exhibiting of her Residency at Dnipro Centre for Contemporary Culture. Kadzevich began exhibiting outside her native Ukraine with Coastal Signs, Pier Arts Centre, Stromness, Scotland, UK (2019); Swan Song, Sofia Art week, Bitaka, Sofia, Bulgaria (2020); Beyond Myths, Federico García Lorca Cultural Center, Ingenio, Canary Islands, Spain; Zemlya, K-Trolle, Roeselare, Belgium; Sensing Places / Placing Senses, organised by óstov collective, ODP Galerie, Leipzig, Germany; Erosive Forces Shape {Inner} Landscapes, Galleria Doris Ghetta Ortisei, Italy; NY IN DER KUBATUR DES KABINETTS, the FLUC, Vienna, Austria; Stolen Sun, Miguel Abreu Gallery, New York (all 2022). In 2023 she exhibited Don’t Look a Gift Horse in the Mouth at De Ateliers, Woonhuis and Offspring: Raamvertelling in Amsterdam and returned to the Pier Arts Centre with Inside Landscape – the natural environment observed by women artists (2019).
