Biography

A R Wentworth (Sheffield) Ltd was founded in 1949 by Arthur Richard Wentworth, a pewter craftsman from Sheffield. Today, the firm is based in Darnall and produces a vast range of goods in pewter. A large proportion of their trade is of traditional pewter objects, such as tankards, goblets and flasks.

Wentworth's have always designed and manufactured traditional pewter products. However, they also employ cutting edge designers to create exciting new products for their Design Gallery range. This includes the Twist and several other vases designed by Catherine Tutt and oil burners by Helene Andreasen. It is a family-owned business run by Maggie, Richard and Jayne Abdy with pewter-smithing in their blood. Jayne is the lead designer who trained in metalwork design in the City of Sheffield.
