‘I love things which contain the past in ghost form, and many [of my] paintings use this as a starting point,’ says Graham Arnold, who created this work. With its heavy artist-made frame, My summer’s now (1974) feels like peering through a window into someone’s memory. Collaged images of aeroplanes and baseball players mingle with gravestones and windows within windows, creating a strong sense of the passage of time.
