Biography
Michael Gorman (b. Wolverhampton, UK 1938 - d. Pafos, Cyprus 2022) studied at Newcastle-upon-Tyne University, 1965-9 and became principal lecturer in fine art at Exeter College of Art and Design (1969-88). He lived and worked in Umbria. Dartmoor and Cyprus, where he died. He was a key figure in the Photorealist movement of the late 1960s, and continued to create arresting visual images, both aesthetic and political, working in a figurative, photorealist idiom, with an immediately identifiable style.
