On Monday 10th March the Contemporary Art Society hosted their 19th Artist’s Table, a fundraising event in honour of Alvaro Barrington at his private studio in Whitechapel, London raising over £150,000. The event was made possible with an outstanding committee and guest list including: Nicola Avery-Gee, Lady Bethell, Nicola Blake, Sadie Coles, Marco Compagnoni, Tommaso Corva-Mora, Caroline Douglas, Clare Elliott, Soo Hitchin, India Rose James, Nicolette Kwok, Yisi Li, Bianca & Stuart Roden, Andrew Pirrie Franks, Dasha Shenkman, Andreas Siegfried, Robert Suss, Tia Tanna, Leopold Thun, Angelina Volk, Cathy Wills & Mary Wolridge.
Guests were welcomed with MarGin Negronis & G&Ts, kindly donated by Rachel Verghis, CEO and founder of MarGin, and a tour of the artist’s private studio in the complex that includes the site of the first free school in London, established in 1680. After an insightful In Conversation, guests were led across the candle-lit garden to dinner in the late 19th-century, neo-Jacobean assembly hall where they enjoyed music produced by Calvin Bennion and a delicious dinner, catered by The Food Initiative, with wine generously donated by Corney & Barrow.
Please note that this event is a charitable fundraiser. The proceeds go towards the Contemporary Art Society's mission to champion and support museum collections around the country.

More about The Artist's Table
The Artist’s Table is a series of bespoke artist curated experiences; typically, twice a year. These are hosted by the artist at their studio and often involve a specially created piece of performance, in conversation or similar unique opportunity to experience the artist’s work in a private setting. The artists are invited to create a one-off immersive experience including dinner.
