The Jackson Tang Ceramic Award is designed to support a major acquisition of ceramic work for our Museum Members. Recent years have seen a significant increase of interest in ceramics and many artists have adopted the medium without formal training. Rather than limiting the Award to either artists whose primary material is ceramic, or those who employ the process and material occasionally (studio ceramics, or sculptural or conceptual practice), we open the scheme to both Fine Art and Craft scheme members. Each application is considered on its own merits.
