A talk by award-winning architectural practice Carmody Groarke at the Contemporary Art Society as part of Clerkenwell Design Week 2013.
Kevin Carmody and Andy Groarke discuss how they worked with the Contemporary Art Society to design their new headquarters at 59 Central Street in Clerkenwell. The project was a culmination of working on several projects for the arts and several collaborations with artists. Carmody Groarke will talk about their influences in designing places to visit, places to work and places to live – and how these projects influence one another.
59 Central Street is a cutting-edge office and gallery space, and is the first permanent home for the Contemporary Art Society in their 100 year history. Opened in January 2013, the space hosts regular displays of works that have been donated by the Contemporary Art Society to museums and public galleries across the UK, supported by an extensive programme of talks, seminars and events.
Part of Clerkenwell Design Week (21-23 May 2013).
