The National Portrait Gallery has not one, but two must-see shows opening in March. “Behind this mask another mask, there can be no end to these disguises” wrote Claude Cahun, one of the few women in André Breton’s circle, and a fascinating exhibition draws parallels between this artist and Gillian Wearing. Later in the month, Howard Hodgkin will be presenting his first exhibition of portraits from his work over the course of 65 years.
