Bedwyr Williams’ proposal for Ancient Connections, 2021

Consultancy is delighted to share news of its collaboration with Bedwyr Williams for Ancient Connections — a cross-border arts, heritage and sustainable tourism project funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Ireland Wales co-operation programme.

Ancient Connections is reviving the ancient links between North Wexford and North Pembrokeshire, Ireland and Wales, in order to create sustainable tourism in and between these regions. Commissioning artworks, working with communities and businesses and hosting festivals, Ancient Connections celebrates the past with an eye to the future.

On 1 May at 6pm in Scoil Naomh Maedhog, Bedwyr will take part in Ferns’ Creative Camino, a weekend of free events showcasing community and arts projects that have been supported by Ancient Connections including the trial of a new 150 km transnational pilgrimage route from Ferns to St Davids.

Bedwyr Williams has been commissioned with Contemporary Art Society to develop a new work for both North Wexford and North Pembrokeshire for Ancient Connections with his proposal for Do The Little Things, which connects the communities of St David’s and Ferns through a common practice of beekeeping, reflecting the story of St David and St Edan (and the bees).
