Join us for an auction preview and exclusive gallery tour of over 30 contemporary artists’ works at Castlefield Gallery with Director Kwong Lee.

Castlefield Gallery is one of the North’s most innovative organisations for contemporary art. Established in 1984, its ambitious exhibitions programme responds to national and international trends, promoting artists at key stages of their careers, including subsequent Turner Prize nominees and winners, and British Art Show and Tate Triennial exhibitors.

The fundraiser exhibition (Put Your Money Where Your Eyes Are) and auction is a celebration of the gallery’s successes over the past 28 years and includes donations of artworks from past exhibitors including Pavel Büchler, Gordon Cheung, Elaine Constantine, Leo Fitzmaurice, Haroon Mirza, Lubaina Himid, James Ireland, Mark Leckey and Liam Spencer. Proceeds of the fundraiser will feed into the gallery’s future exhibitions programme, helping to ensure its continual success as a public venue and development agency for excellent emerging practice.

Further auction details:

The live auction will take place on Wednesday 30 May 2012 (6-9pm). Please note there will be a £10 admission charge (deducted from the price paid for a purchased artwork).
