Now in its fifth year, the Newcastle Gateshead Art Fair at The Sage Gateshead is the largest art fair in the North East. Galleries from across the UK and abroad offer an extensive range of unique and affordable contemporary works.

Upstairs in the Northern Rock Foundation Hall, a curated showcase of work by artists selected by independent curators, is presented alongside some of the leading critically engaged art galleries and not-for-profit organisations in the region.

Staff from the Contemporary Art Society will have a stand throughout the Fair, to talk informally to existing and prospective members about collecting contemporary art.

The Contemporary Art Society is also curating a programme of free public talks about Collecting Prints and Editions, in collaboration with the International Print Biennale, on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October, click here for further details.

Speakers ranging from print publishers, print-making experts and private collectors will share their knowledge and enthusiasm and help de-mystify some of the issues around collecting prints and editions.

Contemporary Art Society members and guests are also invited to attend the VIP preview evening of the NewcastleGateshead Art Fair on the evening of Thursday 29 September.
