“Do you think collecting contemporary art is just for Russian oligarchs and hedge fund managers?”
On Saturday 16 March, the Contemporary Art Society (the UK’s leading authority on contemporary art collecting) and Conway Gallery (one of the newest and brightest commercial galleries to open in Leeds) are co-hosting a special event for any budding art collectors out there.
Rebecca Morrill and Mark Doyle (Heads of Collector Development, Contemporary Art Society North) will share their expert insight into how anyone can start collecting, and Jonathan Rawlin (Director, Conway Gallery) will lead a tour of the gallery with the opportunity to meet some of the rising stars of the Leeds art scene. Refreshments will be served.
Located in Leeds and operating as a commercial gallery, Conway represents artists in order to help support the production and development of their practice through the presentation, promotion and sale of their work. The gallery is housed in Shine, an office, conference and events centre that re-invests in its local community.
Places are free, but booking is essential. Please RSVP to Mark Doyle on mark@contemporaryartsociety.org or by calling 07891 880 498.
