Join us for a private tour of the Latin American art fair PINTA.
PINTA is a unique event in London to discover the best of contemporary and modern Latin American Art. This year PINTA will include artists from Spain and Portugal reflecting the undeniable connection that these countries hold with the Latin American identity.
Launched in New York City in 2007, PINTA has become the meeting place for Latin American Art. For the third time in London, over fifty art galleries from the Americas, Europe and London will be showcasing an exciting range of works by established and emerging Latin American artists. This is an opportunity to experience the sophisticated, international and most distinguished visual art from Latin America, Spain and Portugal. Once again, at PINTA, visitors, galleries, artists, collectors, curators, and British institutions will strengthen their existing knowledge and develop new connections with the Latin American Art world.
PINTA has an exciting programme by which museums are invited to buy art works by receiving funds to purchase art at the fair. This scheme allows museums to incorporate new Latin American Art works into their collections. This year our guests for PINTA London will be once again the Tate Gallery (London), the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), ESCALA, Essex Collection of Latin American Art and MiMA (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art).
As before, PINTA pays tribute to established artists. This year’s homage is to Chilean artist Matilde Perez, a precursor in optic and kinetic art who was immensely influenced by the works of Victor Vasarely. Alongside this solo show, in the Projects section selected galleries will exhibit some of the most interesting works from contemporary Latin American artists working today.
PINTA also presents an interesting and engaging diary of lectures and debates organised with curators, artists and collectors as guest speakers.
