Turner Prize-nominated artist Goshka Macuga is well known for her sculptural environments that blur the roles of artist, curator and collector. Her primary concern is in imaginative acts of retelling history and she often repurposes forgotten or controversial moments as a way to confront received ideas and shed light on the present. Some of Macuga’s projects concern historical acts of censorship; others the competing claims made on art by artists, governments, and the public.
