Held in collaboration with Serpentine Galleries and hosted by Science Museum, this seminar explores the different roles that the ‘digital’ holds within institutions. New and emerging digital technologies are transforming our everyday lives, the world we live in and the way we look at art. They have growing impact on the way we work, learn and engage with others. Today’s reality requires a new set of skills from curators beyond technical expertise and curatorial knowledge.

In the first part of the seminar, we will have two presentations on the history, context and evolution of digital curation. The second part will focus on a series of case-studies which will lead to a discussion.

Speakers include: Natalie Kane, Digital Curator, Victoria & Albert Museum; Dr Charlotte Frost, Director of Furthefield; Lindsay Taylor, Curator, Salford University; artist Jenna Sutela; Dave Patten, Head of New Media, Science Museum; and Kay Watson, Digital Curator, Serpentine Galleries.

The seminar is held in collaboration with Serpentine Galleries with support from Art Fund.

A report on the day written by Victoria Ivanova and will be available in early April.
