Sally Lockey has been collecting art since moving to the region in 2000, her first purchase was a small painting by Paul Merrick to mark the completion of her first freelance contract working for Commissions North. She has since continued with this tradition. Using her knowledge and experience as former Artists Liaison for eyestorm.com (an online retailer of limited edition contemporary art) she has made her selections based on both knowledge and love of the work.

Setting herself a strict budget, she looks for opportunities to buy limited editions by well-known names as well as original works by emerging artists. Her collection is diverse and includes works by Lee Miller, Simon Norfolk, David Shrigley and Shepard Fairey.

Join us to hear Sally talk about what motivates her to buy work and her experiences of building a contemporary art collection on an extremely modest budget.
