Painting is often discussed in terms of its formal properties and its place in the history of art. This study day however, which is held in collaboration with Camberwell College of Arts, will focus on painting as conceptual practice and is structured as a series of conversations between artists, curators and academics. They will discuss a number of issues including materiality, diversity and access, as well as the ways in which contemporary painting can disrupt and allow for a re-reading of collections.
