The Late Shows is an after-dark programme of events and exhibitions centring on the cultural venues in NewcastleGateshead that are usually closed in the evening. The Late Shows began in 2007 and now, in its sixth year, has doubled in size since its beginning. Museums, galleries and visitor attractions stay up late, and organise special events and activities, to encourage people to do something cultural with their evening, in celebration of the UK’s Museums at Night, which links up with the European wide campaign La Nuit de Musées.
With almost 60 venues in the programme, choosing what to visit can be a major undertaking. So this year, we’re doing the hard work for art lovers, and offering a free tour of the contemporary art highlights of the Saturday evening, and the chance to enjoy after-hours culture with like-minded art enthusiasts.
Places are limited so booking is essential.
Meeting place to be confirmed.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and for walking between venues.
