Whether part of a regeneration programme or on a green field site, today public art projects form a key part of any planning process. But how can artists and curators lay down a creative precedent that shapes future development? How can cultural programming build bridges between existing and new communities? And can temporary projects infiltrate the public realm in ways that traditional permanent public art cannot?

Co-hosted by the Contemporary Art Society, Kings Cross and Central Saint Martins, a panel will explore some of the most innovative public art programmes in the UK today, discussing the role of artists in developing creative approaches to landscape design.

Speakers:

–          Jonathan Rose, Principle Architect at Aecom

–          Fabienne Nicholas, Head of Consultancy at Contemporary Art Society

–          Eva Pfannes and Sylvain Hartenberg, Ooze Architects

–          Liza Fior, muf architecture/art

Chair:

–          Shumi Bose, Contributing Editor at Blueprint Magazine and Senior Lecturer at Central Saint Martins

This event has been organised in partnership with the Programmes in Spatial Practice and Culture & Enterprise, Central Saint Martins.
