Gillian Wearing OBE RA (born 1963 in Birmingham) is an English conceptual artist, one of the Young British Artists (YBAs), and winner of the Turner Prize in 1997. In 2007 Wearing was elected as lifetime member of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Her work is characterised by an engagement with the lives of others and her own family history; she uses photography, video and a range of devices to reveal personal details. In 2018 a bronze statue by Wearing, commemorating the life of the suffragist Millicent Fawcett, was erected in Parliament Square, London. Wearing currently has a solo show Life: Gillian Wearing at Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati, USA. Recent solo exhibitions include Family Stories, The National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen, Denmark 2017, and Behind the mask, another mask: Gillian Wearing and Claude Cahun, National Portrait Gallery, London, UK, 2017.

Michael Landy RA (born 1963) is also a Young British Artist (YBA), best known for the performance piece installation Break Down (2001), in which he destroyed all his possessions, and for the Art Bin project (2010) at the South London Gallery. Landy was elected a member of the Royal Academy of Arts in 2008. Landy has used monumental installations/performances to explore political and social issues, such as the nature of consumerism, the commodification of art and the value placed on human beings in the corporate world. He is also a draughtsman, making intimate portraits of his familiars and meticulously rendered botanical drawings. He was appointed Eranda Professor of Drawing at the Royal Academy Schools in 2014. Recent solo exhibitions include Michael Landy: Out of Order at Museum Tinguely Basel; Michael Landy: Saints Alive at the National Gallery, London (2013), and as part of Art on the Underground (2012).
