Annual Fundraiser, Party

Each year the Contemporary Art Society organises a major fundraising gala which raises vital funds to purchase new works of contemporary art for museums in the UK. Now one of the highlights of the art world calendar in London, the Contemporary Art Society Annual Fundraiser contributes directly to our charitable mission, benefitting from the tremendous support of the organising Event Committee, the artists who are commissioned to create new work to auction, as well as guests on the evening.

Reinforced by the Contemporary Art Society’s 100 year old reputation for identifying the art stars of the future, our gala offers guests an unrivalled opportunity to purchase new works by internationally renowned artists, as well as artists attracting national and international critical acclaim who may not be known beyond art world insiders.

RE-

11 March 2014 (date for previewing auction works to be announced)

RE-juvenate. RE-claim. RE-imagine. RE-create. RE-cycle. RE-load. RE-visit.

There is no doubt that we are living in extraordinary times. Old certainties have fallen away. Can our future be found by repurposing materials, reimagining the past and redesigning systems? RE- explores new and dynamic ways that emerging and internationally renowned artists are looking to the past in anticipation of the dawn of a new era.

RE- will take place on 11 March 2014 and is hosted by Mark Stephens (Chairman, Contemporary Art Society), Caroline Douglas (Director, Contemporary Art Society) and the RE- Committee. The auction will feature works by David Austen, Roger Hiorns, Haroon Mirza, Fiona Rae, Michal Rovner and many more.
