Biography
Hignell Gallery was established in 2015 by twentieth century and contemporary sculpture specialist Abby Hignell in Shepherd Market, Mayfair. The gallery's inaugural exhibition showcased a selection of the twentieth century greats of Modern British sculpture with works by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Lynn Chadwick.
The gallery programme gives particular focus to monumental and site specific sculpture and the gallery frequently presents open air exhibitions including Sophie Ryder at The Piece Hall, Halifax, Yorkshire Looking Up, Helaine Blumenfeld at Canary Wharf and Renaturing Nature at St James’s Square, London featuring the work of Joana Vasconcelos and Peter Randall-Page RA. The gallery is adept in installing both open air and interior sculpture and can advise and organise a full installation service. After seven years in our Mayfair space, we have now moved out due to the redevelopment of Shepherd Market. Until they locate to new premises the gallery is currently online with an exciting programme of museum collaborations and site specific sculpture exhibitions.
