Kerry Jameson’s work draws upon found sources such a books and postcards, as well as the artist’s own photography, and her sculptures are often crafted from red earthenware and found objects. The finished creations become seemingly otherworldly due to the strangeness of the subject matter, and invite the viewer to engage in a new perceptual experience. Sticks and Stones (2015) is a mixed-media piece that typifies Jameson’s approach of incorporating sculpted ceramic with found objects. Like many of her works, the piece appears as a vignette from a fairy tale that we don’t know.
