Lettered within image in lower right corner: "Rassenfosse / 1916"; inscribed below image in lower right corner of the sheet, in pencil: "Portrait d'Em. Verhaeren"; on verso, in pencil: "Em. Verhaeren / 190 f" and stamp of the Contemporary Art Society.
