The faraway city: a peasant leaning on a walking stick listens as a peasant woman standing on the left gives him directions; she carries a child; another child stands beside her, pulling her apron; barren landscape in the background. 1914 Drypoint, printed on paper watermarked 'Eug. Delâtre'. Signed and dated on plate: 'Steinlen 1914'. Impression signed by artist, in pencil. Numbered in pencil, lower left: '30/6'. Titled in pencil.
