Biography
Thomas Heatherley (1824-1914) took over as the school's principal from James Mathews Leigh (1808-1860) - when it was named Leigh's Academy. or simply Leigh's and uncoventionally at the time admitted women. A new school was opened on George Street (off Baker Street), London, in November 1927 after previously being located at 79 Newman Street, W1.
