Biography
Ann Moira Forbes-Sempill, Lady Sempill (1920-1995) was the daughter of Eileen Marion Lavery (1890-1935), daughter of the artist John Lavery and his wife Kathleen MacDermott, who died when she was one. Eileen died when her daughter was only 15. There is a painting of mother Eileen and daughter Ann in Ulster Museum, Belfast. Ann's father, William Francis Forbes-Sempill, 19th Lord Sempill (1893-1965) married, as his second wife, Cecilia Alice Dunbar-Kilburn (-1984) in 1941, who ran Dunbar Hay Ltd of 15 Albemarle Street, London W1. Cecilia published English Pottery and China in 1947, as part of the Britian in pictures series of books. Ann married Arthur Eric Holt in 1941. They divorced in 1945. She married Stuart Whitemore Chant (d.1991) on 28 October 1948.
