Sarah Lee Elson (1962)

Biography

Sarah Lee Elson (b. Vallery Forge, Pennsylvania, USA 1962), a CAS Patron and Trustee (2010-19), studied art history at Princeton University (1980-84) and as a postgraduate at Columbia University, New York. Sjhe is the founder of Launch Pad (2014), a London-based platform that supports artists with commissions, residencies, and a conversation series. An art historian and collector with professional expertise as an advisor to private and corporate collections, Elson is a member of the Urban Land Institute for which she has co-conceived and led Urban Art Forum workshops on the role of culture in the public realm. She established an International Artist Residency at Princeton University in 2010 where she serves on the Advisory Council of the museum, and a fellowship for UK-based craft artists at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina.
