Miho Shimizu and Øyvind Renberg (Danger Museum) (2001)

Biography

Miho Shimizu (b. Tokyo, Japan 1976) and Øyvind Renberg (b. Oslo, Norway 1976) are a duo who have collaborated since graduating from Goldsmiths' College, London, in the early 2000s. Their work forms an ongoing, visually eclectic universe of paintings and sculptures. This extends to meticulous and imaginative costumes and set pieces in films that explore choreography, rhythm, colour and narrative structure. They have worked together as the duo Danger Museum since 2001. Their work often evolves in relation to specific cultural contexts and in collaboration with other artists or locals around the world. Projects culminate in visual and sculptural pieces, publications and web-projects. They have held exhibitions at INIVA in London, Oslo, Ssamziespace in Seoul, Sparwasser HQ in Berlin, Cork Public Museum in Cork and most recently in Aberdeen at Peacock Visual Arts.
