Henri Chaumeil (1877 - 1944)

Biography

Henri Chaumeil (b. Paris, France 1877 - d. 1944) was first trained by his father Alcide (1847-1919) and worked in his Paris factory. He later studied at l'Ecole des Arts Decoratifs and exhibited his work at the Salon des Artistes Independants, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Artistes Decorateurs. With the help of his son Paul (1902-1984) they were well-known for their style of ornamental and utilitarian china and "petit feu" ceramics.
