Ian Lawrenson

Biography

Ian Lawrenson (b. Dublin, Ireland) taught  at Belfast College of Art (1966). He participated in a group exhbition at the Alwin Gallery, London with Pascoal de Souza (paintings) and Michael O'Connor Wood (sculpture) in March 1968 where Derek Hill (1916-2000) purchased The Cyclists for the Contemporary Art Society, which was later donated to Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery, Merthyr Tydfil in 1972.  Lawrenson was given a discretionary award of £200 by the Arts Council of Great Britain in 1969.
