Biography
Vincent Henry Lines (b. Dulwich, London 1909 - d. 1968) studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, under A. S. Hartrick (1864-1950), winning a scholarship to the Royal College of Art in 1928 where in 1932, he won a travelling scholarship. Lines became principal of Horsham School of Art and later principal of Hastings School of Art. He was one of the artists involved in the Pilgrim Trust's 'Recording Britain' project. He was the author of several books, including: Mark Fisher and Margaret Fisher Prout. Lines exhibited at the Royal Academy, New English Art Club, Royal Watercolour Society and Leicester Galleries, London. His work was purchased by the British Council and the V&A Museum.
