Ernest Borough Johnson (b. Shifnal, Shropshire, UK 1866 - d. London 1949) studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, London (1885-1887), and at Herkomer Art School, Bushey, Hertfordshire (1887-1889). He was in Paris, in1890, then in Bushey and Basingstokeand in London from around 1917. He taught at Bedford College, London University, South-Western Polytechnic, Chelsea. Works include paintings and drawings of children, portraits, genre paintings, and flower studies. He was married to the painter Esther George Johnson.
