Sine MacKinnon (1901 - 1996)

Biography

Landscape painter. Born 11 February 1901 at Newcastle, County Down, Ireland, she studied at the Slade School under Tonks 1918–20, 1921–4, winning many prizes; then went to Paris, having two exhibitions before returning to London. First London one-man show at the Goupil Gallery 1928. Married to Rupert Granville-Fordham, also a painter. Has lived mainly in France with the exception of the war years.
