Paul Caton (b. Devon, Uk 1950) is a self-taught wood carver who worked for the Swiss Forest Commission. In the early 1990s he received a Crafts Council grant that funded a research trip to Carrara, Italy, to study alongside the stone carvers of that region. He creates hand-carved pieces, mostly bowls, in wood, bronze and stone from his home in North Hereford. His bowls are included in collections in the UK, Japan and the USA.
