Biography

Karin Bravin and John Post Lee opened John Post Lee Gallery in 1991 in a small space on the 10th floor of 588 Broadway. There they exhibited work by: Fabian Marcaccio, Carl Ostendarp, Chris Pfister, Alexis Rockman, Megan Williams, Kenny Goldsmith, Daniel Weiner and Emil Lukas.

In 1994 the gallery changed its name to Bravin Post Lee (the two married) and moved to a ground floor space at 80 Mercer Street. There they continued to exhibit the aforementioned artists and had exhibitions of work by Jennifer Steinkamp, Monique Prieto, Robert Melee, Lee Boroson, Jonathan Seliger, Jonathan Lasker, and Chris Finley.

In 2001 the newly formed partnership of Karin Bravin, John Post Lee and Jay Gorney opened Gorney Bravin + Lee in a large ground floor space at 534 West 26th Street. The gallery mounted shows of James Siena, Paul Noble, Gillian Wearing, Justine Kurland, Allen Ruppersberg, Uwe Kowski, Cathy Opie, Neil Jenney, Simon Periton, Fabian Marcaccio, James Welling, and Barbara Bloom among others.
