Jim Latter (b. London, UK 1945) trained and practised as a typographer before studying painting at Hornsey College of Art (1966-71) and at Chelsea School of Art (1973-75). He was married, as her second husband, to the author Michèle Roberts whom he had met whislt running the art gallery at Essex University. He was also a road manager for Quintessence, who were a rock band between 1969 and 1980.
