Trevor Grenville Jones (1945)

Biography

Trevor Jones (b. Stourbridge, Worcestershire, UK 1945) attended the Stourbridge College of Art (1960-3); Birmingham College of Art (1963-5); and Royal College of Art (1965-8). From 1974 he taught at Birmingham Polytechnic, Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and the London Institute, where he was senior lecturer in fine arts. Group exhibitions have included the Royal Academy student exhibition (1967); New British Painting, ICA (1969); the John Moores Liverpool Exhibition as well the Arts Council exhibition British Art '74 (both 1974); and British Painting 1952–1977 at the Royal Academy, London (1977). Jones had a series of solo shows at New Art Centre, London from 1969, where the Contemporary Art Society acquired two of his abstract works, and an exhibition of prints and drawings at Cinema Gallery, for the Aldeburgh Festival (1990).
