Michael 'Mike' Chilton (1934)

Biography

Mike Chilton (b. Leeds, UK 1934) studied at Leeds College of Art (1952-6) and Slade School of Fine Art (1956-9). He gained a travel scholarship to Spain in 1956 and the Abbey Minor Travel Scholarship in 1959. Since 1958 he has exhibited in group exhibitions at galleries such as the St George's Gallery, Grabowski Gallery, Royal Academy and ICA in London and has had solo exhibitions at the Whitchapel Gallery, London (1976), Ferens Art Gallery, Hull (1975 and 1992) and Usher Art Gallery, Lincoln (1976 and 1991). He lives and works in Hull.
