Biography
Katsutoshi Yuasa (b. Tokyo, Japan 1978) lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. He studied at Musashino Art University (1998-2002) where he received a BA in Fine Art, Painting and Printmaking. He later went on to receive a MA at Royal College of Art (2003-2005) in Fine Art and Printmaking. Recent solo exhibitions include SEEING THROUGH THE LIGHT, Museum Franz Gertsch, Bern, Burgdorf, Switzerland (2022); VR, Gallery YUKI-SIS, Tokyo, Japan; WORK IN PROGRESS, NAZUKARI WAREHOUSE, Chiba, Japan (both 2021); Eros, Kanazawa Yuwaku Sosaku no Mori Center for Crafts and Culture, Kanazawa, Japan; Speculative despair, Gallery YUKI-SIS, Tokyo, Japan; and Travelling Mokuhanga, gallery noivoi, Nagoya, Japan (all 2020); Recent group exhibitions include To Ourself In 10 Years, Gallery YUKI-SIS, Tokyo, Japan (2022); International Mokuhanga Exhibition, Nara Cultural Hall, Nara, Japan; SUMMER EXHIBITION 2021, Royal Academy of Arts, London; Making a paper, Printing on paper, Nishiaizu International Art Village, Fukushima, Japan; and First Contact Mokuhanga from Mokuhanga Artists, Arts Chiyoda 3331, Tokyo, Japan (all 2021). His work is held in several public collections internationally such as the Victoria & Albert Museum.
