Eric Hesketh Hubbard (1892 - 1957)

Biography

Eric Hesketh Hubbard (b. London 1892 - d. London 1957) studied at Heatherley School of Fine Art, Croydon School of Art and Chelsea Polytechnic.He was a painter, printmaker, furniture designer, printer, writer and lecturer. He was founder and director of the Forest Press; for a time master of the Art Workers’ Guild; and the author of over a dozen books, including A Hundred Years of British Painting 1851–1951. He was a member of many societies connected with painting and printmaking in Britain and overseas. He exhibited widely, including at the ROI, RSA, RA, RBA and Ridley Art Club.
