David Willetts (1939)

Biography

David Willetts (b. Birmingham, UK 1939) attended Birmingham College of Art and Design and the Royal Academy Schools. He had a solo show at Camden Arts Centre, London in 1967 and later ones from 1977, including Coracle Press and Gallery from whom teh Contemporary Art Society acquired his Trees and Sun (1976), now at MIMA. In 1980 Willetts was included in the art critic William Packer’s selection for the Arts Council touring exhibition The British Art Show. He taught at Nottingham College of Art, now Nottingham Trent University.  He was also a panel member at the Arts Council East Midlands. Since retiring he has continued to work as a full-time artist.
