Ian Rawlinson (1965)

Biography

Ian Rawlinson (b. Cambridge, UK 1965) studied at Cambridge College of Art & Technology (1981-82); Winchester School of Art (1982-85) and the Royal College of Art (1985-87). Rawlinson has participated in many group shows, particularly of prints, such as New Contemporaries, ICA, London (1986); The London Group, RCA, London (1987); Open British Printmaking, Royal West of England Academy, Bristol and Print Show, Pomeroy Purdy Gallery, London (both 1988); The Ateliers, The South London Art Gallery (1992); 1st Maastricht Print Biennale, The Netherlands (1993); The Spirit of the Staircase, Victoria and Albert Museum (1996); British Contemporary Prints, Hirama Gallery, Ashahikawa and Continental Gallery, Sapporo, Japan (1997); British Contemporary Printmaking, Museum of Modern Art, Nairobi, Kenya (2008); Café Gallery Projects (CGP), London (from 1995 to 2018); Bankside Gallery, London (1989; 2007; 2016; 2017 and 2023) amongst others. He has held solo shows including at the Pomeroy Purdy Gallery (1991); Paragon Centre, London (1992; 1994 and 1995); Galerie ApArt, Marcilhac-sur-Célé, France (2013) and at The Edge Café, Cambridge (2017; 2018; 2019; 2020; 2021; 2022 and 2023).
