Rachael Woodman (b. Watford, UK 1957) studied at Bristol Polytechnic (1975-76); North Staffordshire Polytechnic, Stoke-on-Trent (1976-79); Orrefors Glass School, Sweden (1980) and did a postgraudaye degree in Glass at the Royal College of Art (1982-84). Woodman was a designer for Dartington Crystal, Devon (1986-2005). She works in Bath and collaborates with Neil Wilkin, Stewart Hearn and Sonja Klingler in the blowing of many of her pieces. Her work has a purity and concern for simplicity of line along with an acute awareness of demonstrating the inner beauty of glass as a material in itself.
