Duncan Marquiss (1979)

Biography

Duncan Marquiss (b. Dumfries, Scotland, UK 1979) studied printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee (2001); Glasgow School of Art (2005); and was LUX Associate Artist Programme, London (2009). He has held residencies at: Experimental Film & Artist Moving Image Residency, Cove Park, Argyle & Bute, Scotland (2019); Cabinet Interventions, Pollok House, Glasgow (2017); Hospitalfield Arts, Arbroath, Scotland (2015); Visual Arts Residency, Cove Park, Argyle & Bute, Scotland (2008); .ISIDEM Programme, Sicli, Sicily (2006-07); Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder, Trondheim, Norway (2004). He has also had solo exhibitions: Texture Map, Platform, Easterhouse (2019); Copying Errors, Dundee Contemporary Arts (2016); International Motley – Honest Signals, Glasgow Project Room (2015); Spandrels, The Pipe Factory, Glasgow (2014); Noise, Unosunove, Rome (2012); Distressed Inventory, Sorcha Dallas, Glasgow, (2011); There Is No You, Galerie Peter Kilchmann, Zurich (2009); The Clay Wall, The Changing Room Gallery, Stirling (2007)'; Night Music, Dicksmith Gallery, London (2004) as well as screenings and participating in group exhibitions throughout the UK, Europe, China, Canada and USA.
