Paul Hempton (b. Wakefield, Yorkshire, UK 1946) studied at Goldsmiths’ College, London (1964-8), under Andrew Forge, and at Royal College of Art (1968–71), with Carel Weight (1908-1997). He taught at Wolverhampton Polytechnic, Nottingham University and Reading University’s department of fine art and lived in Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire. In 1980, Hempton represented Great Britain at the 11th Biennale de Paris.
