Biography
Peter Harris (b. Portsmouth, UK 1967) studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design and at the University of East London. He is an artist, illustrator and a musician, who plays in the bands Arthur Brick and Piper’s son. In 1990s he co-founded 'Uncle Grey Presents', a showcase for artists, performers and film-makers in London's East End. His painting installation, Hard Rain, which was inspired by Bob Dylan and The Clash, toured the UK as part of the Air Guitar art and music show, and he collaborated with the London Mennonite Choir to produce Hymn at the National Film Theatre. He had worked previously with musicians such as Siouxsie Sioux, the Stranglers and David Bowie, involving them in collaborative painting projects. Harris also wrote and directed the play Sir Septimus Vein’s Carnival Of Freak, shown at the King's Head Theatre in Islington, London. Since 2006 he has collaborated with Lee 'Scratch' Perry on drawings and paintings after interviewing him for Harris’s feature film Higher Powers.
