Jon Groom (1953)

Biography

Jon Groom (b. Powys, Wales 1953) studied at Cardiff College of Art (1971–2 & 1974–6), Sheffield Polytechnic (1972–3) and Chelsea School of Art (1976–7). He was included in John Moores Liverpool Exhibition (1987), and in the South Bank Centre's The Presence of Painting (1988-89). His first solo show was at Riverside Studios (1978) and other exhibitions have included Rochdale Art Gallery (1983), Ruth Siegel Gallery in New York (1985) and Nicola Jacobs Gallery, London (1986). For some years he was fellow in painting at Gloucester College of Art and Design, Cheltenham. The Arts Council, National Museum of Wales, Cardiff and Norwich Museum and Art Gallery hold his work.
