Diana Cumming (1929)

Biography

Diana Cumming (b. Hereford, UK 1929) studied at the Slade School of Fine Art (1954-6). She took part in many group exhibitions, including Young Contemporaries (1952); Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool (1957–63); the London Group (1958–9); and RA Slade centenary exhibition, 1971. She had a solo show at Beaux Arts Gallery, London 1964 and later ones including at the Cooling Gallery and Hereford Museum and Art Gallery, both in 1990. After an exhibition at Chateau de Montmarin Gallery in Brittany in 1999, Paintings from 1953–2005 in 2005 at Thompson’s Marylebone explored the full range of Cumming’s varied output.
